This stupa, crowned with the auspicious name “Great World Peace Stupa, Naturally Liberating upon Seeing, Sole Ornament of the Boundless Three Planes of Existence,” is an offering to the protector of the Himalayas, the sublimely noble Avalokitesvara, holder of the lotus. Similarly, when a name was requested from the great Supreme Refuge, Kyabje Chatral Sangye Dorje Rinpoche, the life-tree of the Early Translation Nyingma teachings, he crowned the stupa with the auspicious name, “Auspicious, Wish-Granting, Demon-Taming Stupa that is Meaningful to Behold.”  Many learned and accomplished masters in both India and Tibet indicated that it would be excellent if such a stupa were built in the land of Tibet, and they have strewn flowers of praise.
